Fire Inspection at Lake Mayan
On Wednesday, October 25 personnel from the City of Ft Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department will be testing the fire alarm, emergency generating system, and inspecting the fire extinguishing apparatus in our building beginning at 9:00 AM. This review will take approximately 3 hours. Expect the following disruptions:
* There may be momentary pause in power as the transfer from Normal to Emergency power takes place.
* Expect to hear the fire alarms repeatedly throughout the morning as the pull stations are checked.
Boat Show Traffic Advisory (Weds. Oct. 25 – Sun. Oct. 29)
SE 5th Street between Seabreeze Boulevard and North A1A will be closed to allow for a bus stop location specifically designed for the show. It will run between SE 5th Street and the Broward County Convention Center. Patrons are directed to use the Broward County Convention Center parking garages to attend the event. From the convention center attendees may use either the bus system or the Water Taxi to visit the other two locations for the show.
The downtown parking garages and the parking garage at the Galleria Mall are also designated parking locations for patrons of the event to park and ride the Water Taxi as well. Additionally, four locations have been designated as pick-up/drop-off sites for rideshare companies which are close to the event’s main entrance but off the roadway so as not to block traffic. This new plan will help to eliminate many drivers on the barrier island but motorists commuting throughout this area should anticipate increased vehicular traffic.
